UA Health Plan Medical Benefits Calculator FY14

This is intended only to be a guide in estimating which UA Health Care Plan may make the most sense for you and your family financially when you select a plan during Open Enrollment. You are responsible for making your own decisions, as individual situations may vary. As such, Staff Council assumes no liability for your decision.

We have not included any calculations for the Flexible Spending Account option, a minor difference in dental coverage amongst the plans, or for IRS Tax Form Schedule A should you meet the minimum for deducting medical costs as an itemized deductions as that bar is pretty high. In addition, all UA plans offer 100% coverage for some preventative care. Do not include the following in your estimates for expenditures:

Total Cost of premiums, deductible, 80% reimbursement after deductible, Out of Pocket Max (OOP) if met for the plan selected.

Plan HDHP is the High Deductible Health Plan.

Plan CDHP is the Consumer Directed Health Plan. (Note: Pharmacy benefits are subject to deductible, then the 20% coinsurance.)

Remember that many of the preventative medical services are covered at 100%.

Calculations Based On

Deductible paid depends on number of children. Calculator only assumes 1 child, so the total deductible would be the deductible amount per child up to the family deductible limit for the plan.
